"Rarotonga Beach Bungalows reflects the true ‘spirit of the islands’ of old Polynesia.
The bungalows were built in 2002 in the traditional style--- raised off the ground on wooden poles to allow cool air circulation under the floor--- and clustered in a native ‘village’ arrangement with white sand at each doorstep. With only five (5) units, all have a wide, covered deck that overlooks the lagoon and barrier reef. These bungalows are all identical in size--with coconut thatch roofs and wood frame exteriors. Interiors are replicated in the famed and charming era of the 1940’s--- featuring woven bamboo walls, native island cloth exposed ceilings, and rustic ceramic floors. Walls are lined with island art, framed fish tiles, and large canoe steering paddles. Furniture is authentic, comfortable, old style design–constructed from wood grown in the islands.
Rarotonga Beach Bungalows offers all the modern conveniences of: private informal deck, large living room, full kitchen, bar and dining area, separate AIR-CONDITIONED bedroom with king bed, and a breezy tropical bathroom. Attached to the bathroom is a private ‘outdoor’ shower stall surrounded by dense vegetation. Other bungalow amenities include: coffee/tea making equipment, direct dial telephone, ceiling fans, cd player, clock radio, satellite television, extra reading lamps, hairdryer, safe, and insect screens throughout.
The real charm of Rarotonga Beach Bungalows evolves around its location, which is on a huge white sand beach in front of a marine protected fish reserve. This reserve offers tremendous snorkeling and safe swimming at all tides --in crystal clear water.
All of the staff are islanders, who extend a warm and friendly welcome and encourage meeting your fellow guests. The atmosphere here invites all couples or honeymooners to sit back and enjoy a secluded special stay in a deluxe beach ‘mini resort’.
